Student Media groups earn 29 state awards
WKNC DJ Ciera Cipriani earned top recognition Oct. 30 in the 2018 Three Minute Thesis competition, sponsored by the NC State Graduate School.
WKNC took home five awards at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention Oct. 25-28 in Louisville, Ky.
The radio station is a finalist for Best Radio Talk/Entertainment Program, Best Podcast and Best Viral Video.
The Student Media website reduced its accessibility errors by 80 percent during NC State’s Web Accessibility Challenge to take top honors in the 500-1,500 web pages division.
Student Media Associate Director Jamie Lynn Gilbert was among 25 recipients of the spring 2018 “Pride of the Wolfpack” award. She received the honor at the Division of Academic and Student Affairs End of Year Celebration and Awards Ceremony on April 23.
Two WKNC students led educational sessions at College Broadcasters, Inc.’s sixth annual National Student Electronic Media Convention Nov. 2-3, 2017 in San Antonio. CBI San Antonio featured more than 100 breakout sessions and brought more than 400 students, advisers/managers and professionals to San Antonio for the three-day event.
