WKNC finalist for Best Student Media Website

College Broadcasters, Inc. has named WKNC 88.1 FM’s WKNC.org as one of four finalists for Best Student Media Website in its annual National Student Production Awards. The winner will be announced during the National Student Electronic Media Convention Nov. 2 in San Antonio. WKNC.org was a finalist for the same award in 2011 and won Best Student Media Website in 2010.

College Broadcasters, Inc. has named WKNC 88.1 FM’s WKNC.org as a finalist for Best Student Media Website in its annual National Student Production Awards. WKNC.org is one of four finalists, sharing the honor with ROARnetwork.com from Loyola’s Marymount University’s ROAR student television network, KJHK.org from University of Kansas and KJHK 90.7 FM, and Texas State University’s ktsw.txstate.edu from KTSW 89.9 FM. The winner will be announced during the National Student Electronic Media Convention Nov. 2 in San Antonio. WKNC.org was a finalist for the same award in 2011 and won Best Student Media Website in 2010. 

WKNC.org averages about 10,000 unique visitors per month, with its online playlist responsible for more than a quarter of total monthly page views. Mason Morris, a senior in computer science, is the station’s webmaster.
