WKNC up for CMA Pinnacle Awards
WKNC 88.1 FM is up for three College Media Association Pinnacle Awards.
Public Affairs Director Nick Weaver is nominated for Best Radio Talk/Entertainment Program for his review of the album “Mister Mellow” by Washed Out. The review segment, called “Modest Mouth,” aired as part of the “Eye on the Triangle” public affairs program.
Carter Pape is a finalist for Best Podcast for “Protected Class: Moses T. Alexander Greene.” The podcast features an interview with Greene, director of the NC State African American Cultural Center.
WKNC is in the running for Best Viral Video for “Hopscotch Apple Bake” by Katelyn Auger, which received more than 1,500 views on Facebook.
Given annually by CMA, the Pinnacle awards recognize the best in collegiate media in advertising, broadcast, design, online, photo, sports and writing categories. Winners of the Pinnacle awards will be announced Friday, Oct. 26 at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention in Louisville, Ky.
