As her final project for the course, Gilbert developed three broad organizational goals for Student Media to focus on in the 2015-2016 academic year: training and transitions, branding and cultural literacy. Each goal has five to seven supportive mini goals and aligns with an initiative outlined in either the University or the Division of Academic and Student Affairs’ strategic plan.
“Student Media is such a deadline-driven organization that it can be difficult to make time for long-term planning,” Gilbert said. “This project gave me the opportunity to identify both short- and long-term goals that will allow us to grow as individual media outlets and as a department. I am very excited to see how much we can accomplish this year.”
