WKNC Employee of the Month October 2013: dJ/dx

WKNC 88.1 FM has named Yvonne Chazal, a first year student in engineering from Morehead City, N.C., as the station’s October 2013 DJ of the month. While Chazal, known as dJ/dx, does not even have a regular DJ shift yet, she has earned the title by being the single most helpful, charismatic and motivated student at the station. Chazal started her WKNC training in September 2013 and officially joined the staff in October.

WKNC 88.1 FM has named Yvonne Chazal, a first year student in engineering from Morehead City, N.C., as the station’s October 2013 DJ of the month. While Chazal, known as dJ/dx, does not even have a regular DJ shift yet, she has earned the title by being the single most helpful, charismatic and motivated student at the station. Chazal started her WKNC training in September 2013 and officially joined the staff in October.

Chazal channeled her past sound experience from working at a music venue/coffee shop in high school to help WKNC sound engineer John Mitchell create sound for the station’s two Fridays on the Lawn concerts this semester, featuring performances by Stu McLamb of The Love Language, Loamlands, Jonny Alright, and Virgins Family Band. She’s even committed to the station’s Nov. 8 Fridays on the Lawn, featuring Naked Gods and Ghostt Bllonde.
