Gilbert added as speech communication textbook author

Speech Communication Theories and Practices textbook coverStudent Media Associate Director Jamie Lynn Gilbert has been added as an author to a public speaking textbook. The 10th edition of Speech Communication Theories and Practices, published by McGraw-Hill Education, is used by more than 200 students each semester at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. Gilbert revised the book’s chapter on using web-based material for research and made source citation updates throughout the book.

Before coming to NC State, Gilbert taught introductory media and public speaking as an adjunct instructor at Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Mich. Gilbert also has eight years of competitive forensics speaking experience and was a National Forensics Association semi-finalist in informative speaking and quarter-finalist in speaking in 2001.
